Please join us for an upcoming community event in Grand Junction as we’re hosting a part of the Here & Now Tour: Building Local Resilience to Climate Disaster$.
This statewide listening tour is bringing Colorado communities together to share firsthand experiences with climate impacts — from wildfires and drought to flooding and extreme heat — and to explore a powerful policy solution: the Colorado Climate Superfund.
A 2026 Colorado Fiscal Institute study found that climate damages will cost Coloradans $1.5 billion per year through 2050. The Climate Superfund would require the biggest historic fossil fuel polluters to pay their fair share of these costs, funding wildfire mitigation, water conservation, heat pumps for schools and homes, resilience centers, and more.

Overview of the recent Grand Valley Climate & Innovation Showcase Event — an official Colorado Climate Week event on the campus of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.
This half-day program brought together local innovators, educators, students, and community leaders to spotlight the Western Slope’s growing role in Colorado’s clean energy and sustainability future. Topics included agrivoltaics, composting, geothermal systems, circular economy development, and wildfire mitigation, with campus facility tours and a closing networking reception on the Dominguez Hall Roof Terrace. Co-sponsored by the CMU Sustainability Council, the Cleantech Business Coalition, and Compost Junction.
